Line Up

The Description:
Line Up is a fun, simple little video game that is similar in essence to games like Tetris, but is also the opposite in some ways.  Rather than blocks falling from above, different colored blocks build up from below.  Click on groups of three or more blocks of the same color to cause them to disappear and build up points.  Avoid allowing the blocks to build up to the top of the board in order to stay afloat.  The catch is that you only get to click 100 times each round, so choose your clicks wisely!

The Good:
Line Up is a fun and satisfying game to play for many reasons.  In a way it is a very straightforward game, but at the same time it is possible to improve and mature at your abilities to make decisions based on the game’s unique parameters.  Random, thoughtless clicking will not work to a player’s advantage in this game due to the limit of clicks you are allotted each round.  This leads to more thoughtful game play where some risks and strategy must come into play.

The Bad:
This game, along with similar games like Tetris and Snood, are geared toward a specific type of personality.  Somewhat organized, pattern oriented brains could find this game quite enjoyable and addictive, while others may get bored rather quickly.

The Bottom Line:
This is certainly a fun little game with plenty to like. It is also a relatively simple game, with only one possible action: clicking on groups of blocks.  Individuals who find this relatively one-dimensional mode of game play boring may not be interested, however many people may find it anywhere from enjoyable to addictive.
