The Description:
Stick-Fu is a fun, cartoon-style, side-scrolling, stick-figure fighting video game application that finds the player fighting crime and evildoers as a ninja stick figure.
The Good:
The movement is fluid, the sound effects fun and quirky, and the graphics are well-made and almost artistic, often having multiple layers of scenery in the background. The control system is excellent, utilizing four simple buttons to cover all of the necessary movements. Stick-Fu is fun and creative, utilizing the classic image of the simple stick-figure and creating an engrossing world for the character to inhabit.
The Bad:
If there is a flaw with Stick-Fu it may be that, compared to many modern video games, players do not have as much control of the fighting aspect of the game. The control system is similar to that of older side-scrolling video games where two simple attack buttons are all that is necessary. Also, the enemies, including the bosses, seem to all be simple stick figures as well, making the game a little less exciting than perhaps it could be.
The Bottom Line:
Stick-Fu is a captivating, creative side-scrolling video game with a pleasing aesthetic that looks great on the iPhone screen. While it may not be the most revolutionary gaming experience, it is a fun arcade game to pass the time with.
